Good for Stu, meanwhile Timmy back in goal for the Toffees, and getting the clean sheet.

Where was Deuce? Not on the bench, not starting. Rested?

180+ minutes about 5k feet -- one in a blizzard, the other ending three days before the league match. I'm not surprised he didn't feature.

Herc scores yet again tonight. That gives him nine career CCL goals with all nine coming against MLS teams.

Man, Basel play some great football. ALL their effort is towards (a) gaining control of the ball, (b) moving the ball wide and forward, (c) threatening the goal. They played that way at WHL. I understand now how they beat Bayern and Man U early in the season.

The captain of Hannover is back and went the full 90, glad to see Dolo is feeling better because he's still the best rb we got and will need him this summer.

Bradley went the distance for Roma in a 2-1 win.

Another big goal by Dempsey for Spurs to key a late come from behind win over City. With Bale, Defoe and Dempsey all back and healthy, it's going to be a dogfight for those final 2 CL spots.

Have sporadically checked out a Spurs MB to see their opinion of Clint and like at Fulham he is going from 'what a total waste of space' to 'not good enough to start' to 'he at least works hard for the team unlike..' A few more typical right place at the right time goals and it will be 'big game player that still falls down too much

Message board fans aren't very bright on average.

    36 games, 36 starts, 15 g 9 a
    35 games, 30 starts, 13 g 8 a
    28 games, 18 starts, 11 g 5 a (5 matches left)

First 2 lines are van der Vaart's numbers with Spurs. The last line is Dempsey's this year. Seeing as that's whose spot he's filled most often, that's the comparison point. I'd say all things considered, he lines up quite well.

I haven't watched many Spurs matches this season. Any coincidence to Dempseys return to form and Spurs return to ghe victory column?

Here is a kid I'd never heard of before. Duane Holmes, born in Georgia, Mom is English, Dad American, moved to Alaska, back to Georgia, and finally to England after parents divorce. Spends time every summer in Georgia, and hopes to get Tab Ramos' attention. Has been playing for Huddersfield Academy since he was U9  . Now 18, and given a contract w/the club.

I'm rooting hard for Spurs to get that last CL spot. They deserved it last year, and it can only help Deuce and us (USMNT) down the road to Brazil. On the other side of the coin, Michael Bradley seems to have fallen somewhat out of favor with Roma's new boss, having lost his starting spot. He's still getting minutes, so hopefully he'll win it back or move on to greener pastures (pitches?). Sure wish Jozy's club success could translate into international results. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Still not feeling too good about the defenders out there. Doesn't seem as if anyone's having a good club year outside of Tim and Brad in goal. Haven't heard much from Shea at Stoke either.

They were without their 3 leading scorers due to injury for stretches of the last couple of months. All three (Bale, Defoe and Dempsey) are back healthy and all three netted against City. Defoe is the real difference maker, imo. They can win w/o him, especially when Bale was on that insane run of form, but he gives them so much more than Adebayor. Dempsey has certainly made an impact though. If those three are in form, Arsenal's CL hopes are in big trouble.
