Probably just the angle, but Chimbonda appears to have a handful in that last image.

    Thanks VonBilly!

I took some photos today, but not many, I'm afraid. My original plan was to meet American Mike and companions at the pub at Liverpool Street (assuming he went there. Lots of people would have been there whatever).

Unfortunately, on getting to Reading station I was confronted the news that all lines to Paddington were closed due to this. That meant jumping into a cab to get back home, and collecting my old reserve car (I'd left my proper one at the office), before careering up the M4 into London. 20 year old Volvos can do 95mph, by the way. Of course that didn't go right, either, with the information screens on the Motorway revealing both "LONG DELAYS M4 J4-1" and "LONG DAYS M25 J20-2", ruling out either of my planned routes. In the end I parked near Heathrow and got the tube all the way across London, an interminally long and dull way to travel long distances. Got to the ground five minutes after kickoff; not a bad outcome considering how late I could have been.

And THEN... within five minutes, a steward told me to put my camera away. When I asked him why, at half time, he said it was "because of terrorism. All grounds are the same.". Most amusing, especially when I asked one of the policemen next to him what legislation this was, the policeman calmly said, with a grin, "I am not aware of any specific legislation, sir".

Anyway, I'm rambling. Here are a few pics:

Thats funny, you went through all of that and I left with plenty of time to get to the ground myself and you still arrived 40 minutes earlier than I did. We hit traffic in central London and didn't move for atleast an hour. I was happy to just get there to see the second half.

So 'terrorism' is the new 'copyright' is it?? What a bunch of clowns...although I had a bit of a problem with a steward regarding my seats and instead of telling the two people to get out of my seats he said " find 2 others". I said, 'ITS SOLD OUT, THERE ARE NONE'. He simply shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Ugh.

    Me again.

A memory card corruption of some sort (hopefully just that and not the camera) ate most of my photos tonight.

There are a few that I salvaged here though. I've gone artywank black and white for the evening...

Thanks a lot Ormonndroyd! While I got to see the match, it is always nice looking at pictures in and around the Cottage. Looks like it was a nice day in London today. Too bad the Whites lost.

On to Vicarage Road and a big one against Watford!!

Thanks for the great pix and the captions. I can't believe how angry I get just seeing the "Samsung" on those a$$hole's chests.

Looking forward to buying you a pint some day, VB!
