What a mid-field that would be with Bradley and Mikel Arteta who IMO is one of the best players in the Prem.

If Bradley has been playing as well as people are saying, that strikes me as a low-ball offer.

Americans are had cheaply. Three million is more that was paid for the most recent transfers of Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Kasey Keller, DaMarcus Beasly, Freddie Adu, and Clint Dempsey.

Not a bad offer for a young guy plaing in the Dutch league.

The only American that will see +10m is Altidore. You can't teach Size, Speed, and Youth. As for Bradley he's 20 and tearing it up in a B league like the Eredivisie(sp?) so I think the most an EPL side with pay is 5-7m.

Thanks Eric for posting, looks like Michael has gone to the worry-free hairdo. One thing for certain is any doubts about the kid's talent because of his old man's position should be long gone. Barring injury he is going to be the rock in the center of the pitch for the US for many a year.

Exciting to think that a 2010 US side could feature Bradley, Altidore, and Adu, not to mention the already established talent like Dempsey. Whatever happens in the qualifying stages and world cup we should be able to see some exciting attack minded soccer.

His first touch is just getting better and better, and you can see that he is really visualizing the game. I am happy to see that he is doing well in Holland.

I like the way he defends too. He has that long legged style - he gets his foot on so many balls. I have never had that attribute with short legs.

HEADLINE! BRADLEY IN TERRIBLE SLUMP! SUBSTITUTED OFF AFTER 65 MINUTES!

    Well, sorta.

Of course, he did score only one of Herrenveen's SEVEN goals yesterday against Vitesse. So that might be a slump by his lights.

The boy is continuing to go from strength to strength!

This interview from ussoccer.com on Jan 25 08, says Bradley just passed Beasley for most goals scored by a Yank in Europe in a single season. Also seems like the kid just takes it all in stride, which is nice to see.

obviously our boy was not too tired after his match against Mexico. Yesterday, he scored the equalizer for Herrenveen against league leaders PSV at their patch.

by my count that's his 14th league goal, and despite the fact that his best position is probably defensive midfielder, he leads his side in scoring.

We are probably witnessing -- from afar -- the best ever season for any American outfield player in Europe.

That's interesting! I'd say he's doing the best-ever for any US player, not a GK.

Too bad it's in Holland, and not Prem, BL, or Serie-A but at least it's not in the Scandi leagues.

As far as I'm concerned it's the next best thing outside of Italy, Spain, England, and Germany, and it seems as though he'll be playing in one of those four countries before too long if he keeps this success up.

It still is just so impressive how he has all those goals from the midfield!

I think it's more impressive when you compare him to the other players in that league who he's outscored or is right on par with, such as Roy Makaay and Luis Suarez. The only two players in the entire league who are a significant distance from him as far as goals go are Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with 22 goals (which is nothing to feel bad about), and Blaise N'Kufo (who's also incredible) with 18 goals. He's only one goal out of third place and tied for fourth (as of ESPN Soccernet on Feb 9th, but if that goal was his 14th, than he would be in third place assuming Roy Makaay didn't score).

EDIT: It should also be noted that of the top 21 goal scorers in the entire league, he's the only midfielder.

Outfield player: a soccer player who doesn't play in goal. Even when you agree with me, you disagree! :D

sorry... I musta missed all those OTHER Brits calling them 'Outfield' players. I'm not in the Fitba 'In' crowd, ya see.

Maybe because none of those other guys are on the net yet? Whatever, guys.. Don's been there.

So next time you need a synonym for the Keeper class, 'Infield player' is the bees knees!

     luvvit!

There was a video of the goal on you tube, but it came through lousy on my computer (I was not sure if it was me or the you tube side). I put the link here in case you want to see for yourself.

I love it when a shot hits the side netting.

Bradley scored two more goals on Saturday, bringing his league total this season to 16 (18 in all competitions).

He is now tied for third in scoring in the Dutch League - the top two (and the other tied at 3rd) are all Strikers.

Can you say "record transfer fee for an American?"

Bradley is the man. I think he could possibly be the first American outfielder to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. A defensive mid with that kind of scoring prowess? Oh my word!

I would not be at all surprised to see him transfered in the summer or next year if he has another season like this one. Again ... he's a beast.

    That 2nd goal was amazing!

There are some Bradley interviews in Dutch on Youtube as well - kid does well (I lived in Holland for 2 years so speak some myself), better than most of the MLS internationals who interview.
