And I've said it before, and say it again in the second article on Fulham and LG... the 'Big Business' cat was let out of the bag when they started putting sponsor logos on the front of the shirt.

Dont cry those croc tears, Brits... you let it happen.

Poor ownership knows no nationality. I can think of one truly clueless American owner in recent history: Terry Smith at Chester. The rest of them have been good in terms of what football fans want from Chairmen:

Hire quality people to run the club. Support them financially. Stay out of the way unless change is required.

The Glazers have done well. Lerner has been everything Doug Ellis wasn't at Aston Villa. And I expect Hicks and Gillette will do fine for Liverpool.

I see American ownership as an advantage. They are more inclined to leaving affairs to the football professionals and judging matters based on the results achieved by those professionals. They stay in the background.

I'm surprised Fulham has not been linked with an American buyer. They are in London, have a great ground, an increasing fan base and employ 3 yanks! What more could you ask??

I wonder what the average English football fan would make of Mark Cuban?

A perfect Fulham owner for me would be someone like Kraft up at New England. He has the interest in the game, a track record for success, and puts his trust in his staff to handle the business on the playing side of the ledger.

If Fulham were to gain interest from the Kraft family it would be welcomed by most Cottagers I would expect. The funds to compete for player, great owners that know how to build winning teams and the ability to market the club not only in Europe and the US but more importantly in Asia.

I was actually hoping the Kraft family would purchase Liverpool, but I am pleased with Gillett and Hicks.
