    Game 2 has just ended with the Rays hanging on to tie the Series at 1-1.

    This won't be a ratings winner, but Tampa Bay has the chance to match the Miracle Mets of 1969 as far the biggest surprise ever. The Phillies have won it 1 time in 100 + years of existence and the sports crazed town of Philly hasn't won anything since 1983.

    Think this will go 7 games w/the kids from Florida winning it.

    Do the name 'Marlins' ring some cowbell? I dont really care who wins, it's interesting enough for me to check over from House or 'Law&Order: SPecial Victims Consignment', now and then.

    I confess, I enjoy the WS every year, regardless of the participents. However, a Florida team winning a 3rd WS in the past decade or so is grotesque to me. Plus the Phillies have a bay area connection (Rollins, Burrell, ex-Giant Pete Happy).

    What's in a name?? When the powers that be started calling it the World Series (well over 100 years ago, and shocking to think of the American media back then being prone to hypebole and sensationalism :roll: ) we were the only country that actually played the game, so it fit.

    Old man Moyer had to be loving the long delay (baseball players are creatures of habit and starting at 10 pm ET had T-Bay's b.ats asleep). The Rays better win tonight or Cole Hamels will seal the deal in game 5

    I'm loving the Ray's method of producing runs. That's two games in a row when three of the four runs they scored came in either on outs or aggressive base running.

    This series really looks like turning into a classic. No big boppers, but plenty of strategy, clutch pitching performances, and team baseball. Good stuff.

    Ever watch Wrestling on TV?

    {I wrote three more lines of snark on this, including term 'football' and involving age of poster, but decided to take the high road.}

    - heh. ;)

    I agree that what I've seen makes this a great series for baseball purists.

    If only I cared more.
