Word on the twitter street is they're working on compensation for Clarke and can't come to an agreement. We'll see.

According to this, Fulham have discussed the vacancy with Lambert, Pearson, and Clarke. And Fulham have either been rejected or couldn't come to terms. Perhaps Fulham's bargaining position needs some rethinking or are Fulham going to move on to the last person on the list?

 

I was referring to the 3 man list and thinking it was Tisdale.

But it's funny you mention yourself being on the list. I was trying to explain Fulham's woeful record of late in holding on to managers for more than a few months to my husband and he joked why don't they just put the fans in charge.

 

Ag, normally I would agree with you. But, not on this, this has little to no planning written all over it. You said it at the beginning of your last paragraph..."I do wish some of this would have taken place last week." We've been hearing reports of Kit's job being being in the balance for weeks before he was let go. We didn't have a list of potential managers ready to be interviewed at the time the decision was made? If we did, why wait until these past few days to start interviewing? I'm sorry but this from the outside looks like a lack of strategy or one that didn't have much of chance of being pulled off.

Fulham just tried to hire a manager from another team, and when you do that you usually need to give up quite bit to get that manager when he's already on a fairly lengthy contract. And failing to pry that manager away just hurt the team's bargaining position. I really hope the team doesn't end up doing something desperate. My hope for finding a long term replacement is diminishing by the day because the names we're being linked doesn't inspire a whole lot of faith in this search. Perhaps Curbishley just might be the guy after these next few games?

 

I'm making no judgment on whether he would be a good replacement or not. But we do have a light fixture coming up, win a few and he just might convince the right people or win the job by default.

 

Although looking back when I first started watching the Premier League, I thought Curbishley's Charlton sides were pretty decent. I don't remember how it went wrong for them though.
