Whatever happened to....?

So I'm reading an opinion piece on Yanks Abroad and he brings up David Arvisu. After saying "who?", I then remember that he was supposed to be a lock for 2010. Things haven't worked out that way, obviously. My question is, why not? I didn't keep up with MLS for a couple of years so I have no clue why. He was certainly talented enough.



The reason why I left the rest of the title of the thread blank is because I'm sure many others have questions about other players who have disappeared and would like to ask what happened.

How 'bout the kid with the coolest name...gabriel ferrari. The young man looked to be on the fast track, got derailed, sent to a chop shop, and the parts sold on the black market.

 

If you hadn't heard of Altidore, who was playing and scoring and attracting tons of attention for Red Bull NY, at a younger age, at the same time that McCarty started out with FC Dallas, then you weren't paying attention. The same goes for Bradley, who had senior caps before Altidore and McCarty even got started in MLS.

 

Gaven was a bust. Why is he on the list of players who's done well? Everybody had extremely high hopes for him and they were all shot down every time he hit the big stage in the FIFA tournaments.


Ferrari is still in Italy. He was supposed to be really good and really don't know why it hasn't worked out.


Oh and what happened to Ofori Sarkodie? He was supposed to be a great defender and maybe even converted into a defensive midfielder. Man, that whole 2005 team might as well be called a bust.
