Ninth-tier Wembley FC have signed up Ray Parlour, Martin Keown, Graeme Le Saux, Claudio Caniggia and a guy named Brian McBride. It sounds like the players will only be involved in FA Cup matches and that this all stems from a sponsorship deal the club have signed with Budweiser, complete with a documentary TV series chronicling the small club's hopeful dream run in the competition. The FA apparently says they're breaking no rules and that Bud's deal with the club is entirely separate from their deal to sponsor the competition itself.

Call me a skeptic, but it seems a little fishy to me. It will be fun to watch, though.

Yeah, don't like this. So what does that say to the regular season starters? I'm sure they'll be very pleased to be sitting the bench for the FA Cup.

It says the club are so desperate that those starters likely no longer have a club to start for if this stunt doesn't yield some results. Desperate times, desperate measures.

So what's next, QPR: Hard Knocks? They'd have to keep Barton & Cisse of course.

Re: McBride to play for Wembly FC

That's awesome - I'm going to try and catch a peek of the match.
