    Let's get it started!

No Clark and -- hopefully -- no Bornstein or Feilhaber. Here's what I'd like to see:

    ----------------------------- Super-stud Tim -------------------------------
    Spector ------------ Cheesehead ----------- Gooch ---------- Boca
    --------------- Bradley --------------- Torres ------------------------------
    ---------------- Dempsey ----------------------------- Adu --------------
    ----------------- Jozy ----------------- LandyCakes --------------------

    Brazil 3 USA 1

Still got some Diet DP, so I will watch it all.

    must...take...deep...breaths...

i have a suspicion that we'll still see bornstein at lb b/c of his quickness and the uncertain status of boca's hammy, other than that, i'm all for throwing adu and torres into the mix early on.

that's an early start on the ol' diet dr. pepper, hd. coffee for me, but if somebody is sent off early again, that's gonna transform to an irish coffee post haste.

I would bring Marvel Wynne in there somewhere as a defensive midfielder and leave Torres on the bench. He can come in for Adu later - they are the same player.

Forget the DP. Forget the Coffee. I'm starting in on the Kool-Aid.

    ------------------------------- Timmay ---------------------------------

    ------ Wynne ------------------------------------------- Spector ------
    ------------------------ Gooch ---------- Boca -------------------------

    ---------------------- Bradley ----------- Torres -----------------------
    ------- Dempsey ------------------------------------- Adu -------------

    --------------------- Cakes ---------------------------------------------

    -------------------------------------------- Josy -------------------------

And bring Sacha (probably for Torres) and Davies (probably for Cakes) in as soon as anyone shows the least bit of being tired.

Is this a prediction of a US win?

Here's what I want to see:

    --------------Howard
    Wynne-Onyewu-Boca-Spector
    ------Sasha--MB--Torres
    --------Cakes------Demps
    ---------------Jozy

    the classic Christmas Tree formation

    What I think we'll see:

    --------------Howard
    Spector-Onyewu-Boca-Bornstein
    Demps---Sasha--Demps--Beas
    --------Cakes
    ----------------Jozy

I want to see a high pressure physical game to try and get Brazil out of their comfort zone. I think we have to take it to them and force them to defend b/c they have an excellent ability to pick teams apart. I still have to watch the Brazil v Egypt match to see how they are playing, but I would imagine it is the same style they always play - great.

It would be a good idea NOT to give up many free kicks in our half. Egypt played them off the pitch as long as the ball was in play. I think we defend better against dead-ball situations than The Pharaohs, but giving Brazil a free kick within a sniff of your goal is not something you want to do on a recurring basis.

I agree with Eric. We need to pressure them and make the game ours. We were doing that very well against Italy, actually, throughout the first half -- even after we lost Clark.

Nice to see SOME positive statements on this thread.

I think we'll see the 4-5-1 again with the same back four, Landon and Dempsey out wide and Jozy up top. The middle three will probably be Bradley, Feilhaber and Torres in some order.

    That's an insult to horrible.

I don't need to see his skinny ass in a USMNT shirt ever again.

All credit for Spector. Not his fault, and he showed his wheels,...and heart.

Bradley is having a bit of a howler, along with DMB.

Here's a tip: When you have a corner kick against Brazil, kick it into the area.

Who the hell is responsible for coming up with these tactics and line-up???

Ahem.... I'm not great on tactics and formations. But I know good when I see it, and I know 'overrated' when I see it.

Not ready for Prime Time.. EVER!

Oh my goodness. It's hard to tell if the players care or not (Howard and Gooch excluded) - and it sure looks like the coach doesn't care either as he stands on the sideline with a dumbfounded gaze...then again, I probably would revert to a 1000 yard stare too if I had to watch that shit in front of me.

    Conor Casey is worthless.

It is sad, but I miss Brian Ching.

I didn't expect to win, but that was not fun to watch.

The last 10-15 minutes looked much better for the U.S., but I still think Costa Rica, for example, would've beaten the U.S. today, let alone Brasil, with the effort I saw displayed.

That is, unless the USMNT is really that bad? This team continues to lower my expectations...which weren't all that high to begin with.

One match left to salvage some pride. Again, Gooch and Howard excluded - he's faced 40+ shots (IN TWO MATCHES!!!) and made a ton of saves and Gooch is the lone player to probably raise his stock in South Africa (Howard we already know is a stud).
