The team is a mix of Veterans and Youth and players who havent really gotten a chance.Jimmy Conrad is geting a chance but, probably the Best LB in MLS Jose Burciaga Jr. hasnt been named to the team. Instead Greg Vanney is on the team and Frankie Hejduk. The US has no Lb so why no Burciaga. Also this team should have Chad Marshall and Spector players like that not Pope or Sanneh.I mean the US has maybe 15 games before the WC starts it would be good to know what these players can do at the National team level. Also why no Adu or Gaven?Adu is tied for the lead at DC for Assists and has played really well this season and Gaven has been playing well for the past 2 seasons.Adu needs to play before the WC. he needs to play in the WC also because he can be kinda like a Super Sub just like he is at DC.There is good news though JOB or John O'Brein is on the team and could get some minutes.

After watching Freddy Adu in the World Yout Cup, I do not think we will see him in a World Cup until 2010 in South Africa. He is not deserving of playing with the big boys yet. He has promise and potential, but he is not good enough to compete at the elite level of International Soccer.

I do agree that Arena should be playing more young players in the Gold Cup. The US is at an interesting point in their development. They have a lot of young players like Eddie Johnson, Eddie Gaven, Clint Dempsey and such and a crew of veterans like Brian McBride, Claudio Reyna, Kasey Keller, etc. Does Arena go out with old and in with the new before or after the World Cup in Germany? I am gonna guess he will overhaul the team after the World Cup, but it might not be a bad idea to mix and match young and old to get the right combinations before the World Cup rather than after. The US is gonna surprise no one in Germany. They must be ready on June 9th, 2006 to play hard and good soccer.

Adu had no help at all in the WYC. He could of easily had 5 or 6 assists and should of had 2 goals as well. He was the one who earned the Pk's and he should of had 2 assists against Germany but, Gaven and Feilhaber couldnt finish. If Arena lets Bobby Convey start then Adu should at least be on the team.
