    US Women Olympic Qualifying

The women's team had their first qualifier yesterday and beat the Dominican Republic 14-0. Brutal. A score line like that makes me feel kind of bad, but the women dont get as many chances when it comes to qualifying so I guess I cant blame Pia for having them keep the pedal down. Amy Rodrigues came on as a sub and got a hat trick in 30 minutes. Her firsst two touches of the game were goals.

Next up Guatemala on Sunday. Our friends to the north are providing free and legal streams of the matches at http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/concacaf_woq/
The Guatemala match will likely be another rout but the semifinal is the match that matters and it is not being broadcast on television. ESPN is showing the final of the qualifying but it's my understanding that is a meaningless match since both teams will have already qualified.

Well, the US WNT won by two touchdowns last night. But Ali Krieger suffered a major knee injury, and will most likely be out for a significant amount of time.

5 goals in a 30 minute span?

Maybe Fulham can get her in the transfer window. ;)

Great minds? Glad someone else is paying attention to the women. Shame about Krieger, she's one of my favorite players.

It's kinda hard to pay attention to them with10:30pm game starts? And no major tv coverage.
