you can watch the game on www.univision.com if you are still at work. Hercules Gomez just missed wide left on a set piece just outside the box.

    here is the lineup:

    Guzan
    Moor Boswell Califf Pearce
    Olsen Clark Beckerman Mapp
    Gomez Johnson

Thanks! Any Davies sightings? Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see your lineup for some reason.

Was in the chatroom, but nobody was to home. I turned on the TV just as the penalty was awarded against Guzan -- unfairly -- and his subsequent save. Looks like we're having the usual problems with attack, although Davis and Nguyen are on for Gaven and Johnson, so maybe things will look up.

I entered the chatroom the same moment you left. I was hoping to get caught up on the match by someone. I saw the first half goal and it was a quality one, but missed most of the match.

We had the better of the match in the 2nd half, and Davis should be considered above Johnson from now on.

Moor deserves to be on the list for RB

I didn't see anyone breaking into the Boca/Gooch/DeMerit/Conrad grouping for CB

    Pearce didn't impress

    -----------------------

Kljestan deserves another look. Mapps a better sub than starter.

    Gaven and Beckerman are through.

    Not sure about Nguyen

    -----------------------

    Davis deserves another look.

Twellman and EJ are through (or should be). Not sure about Gomez.

    ------------------------

    Guzan did ok.

I thought Guzan did well; Mapp is a total loss as far as I can see. Davis definitely impressed me, and Nguyen was always going forward, which is something relatively strange for an American these days.

The worst performance in the 2nd half was undoubtedly the referee. Everytime anybody fell down for either side there was a foul. He made a big "no, you come here to me" deal with a Colombian defender, and then did nothing when the guy didn't come to him. There were at least 4 minutes of stoppage time before the 6 minute goalkeeping stall Colombia pulled, and then he says FOUR MINUTES STOPPAGE TIME?

Forget the Banana Republic tournement. Give me the ref in the Gold Cup final any day.

    And ON TO CANADA!

The U20's are showing some promising spurts of quality. Hope it continues and the US makes it deep into the tournament.

Another 6-1 battering sounds great. Bring on the Samba nation of Brazil. I like our chances.

    Enough of the hijack...

Extremely disappointed that the US did not earn a single point in the tournament and it shows the lack of depth the US has beyond their first teamers.

Ho hum, 0 - 3. Not unexpected, but still disappointing nonetheless. The 10 minutes it took to change goalies, with only 4 minutes added, was a hose job.

For allegedly being very pacey, maybe EJ feels he needs to take on 3 or 4 defenders prior to advancing towards goal. He spends more time on the ball than Sergio Garcia. I guess EJ feels it's not very sporting to only beat a single defender and slot the ball past a goalie?????? He needs to leave now - or show some cojones and attack the f@#$king net. I'd rather see Davies (while probably not possessed of the physical skills of EJ, at least shows an attacking desire).

I believe the verdict is in and EJ needs to get amongst the goals or take his place on the bench or just stay at home. Huge waste of pace and he's made some very poor decisions in the Copa.

Davies...like what I see. The rough edges need to be smoothed, but he looks to be the real deal.
