    Re: World Cup 2014

OK, so who does the US start vs. Ghana - the nemesis that we all want to see taken down. I think it will be the same 11 that started against Nigeria. Yep, Beckerman is going to start in a World Cup match - I never would've thunk it, but somebody needs to 'carry the water.'

And here are recent quotes by Der Komissar:
“We are very ambitious and hungry and we want to get started on the right foot against Ghana … For us, everybody has the confidence to go into the game and show Ghana the right body language from the first second,” he said. “Personally, I love that, the more difficult it now gets. I enjoy that. I know how tight, really, the margin is between winning and losing … it could be little tiny things that can go against you, but they can also go for you and I’m a believer they will go for us, so this is what we try to do now.”

He said he’ll tell his players, “’Go out and enjoy it. Go out and embrace it. Be confident. You built a physical foundation now. You worked hard for four weeks now. They worked hard for their clubs … This is now the moment. This is the stage. That is where you want to be.”

I agree with your guess of the same 11 that started against Nigeria.

It might be a toss-up between Bedoya and Zusi out wide. I hope, after how the team performed on Sat, that Klinsmann doesn't switch too much up.

If we don't get three against these guys, it's 3 and out for us again. I have no reason for it, but I'm kinda confident we'll prevail.

Is anybody else so nervous about today's match they're not sure they can watch?

I am feeling just the opposite. Five o'clock CST can't get here fast enough.

I believe that we can win! I believe that we can win!

I wouldn't say that I'm too nervous to watch, but I decided to take HatterMom to a SA Missions Texas League game tonight. I'll watch a bit, but the rest will have to wait until after I get home.

"If it's just your heart, that's talkin'..." Those are just SCJ's hearts - not the US (gulp).

I'm 50/50 at this point - The US or Ghana could equally blow or win this match...and these squads are fairly evenly matched, overall. I'm gonna watch and get liquored up, woo hoo!!!!!!!!!
