It cost US Soccer Federation about a million bucks in ticket sales to play there, but Crew Stadium again proved the charm to beat Mexico.

The atmosphere was fantastic With Sam's Army occupying the North End and singing non-stop through the match, the US was inspired to come out the second half and lay the wood to El Tri.

Have nothing to say about the first haldf play as it was pretty bad for both teams.. with both midfields disrupting their opponents attempt to press an organized attack

Mexico Fans, about 5000 of them scattered around the seats lost their voice early in the second, though, as Steve Ralston scored on a mistake by the Mexico defender and from that point, the US kept up their pressure in the attack and Mexico stayed on their heels.
Beasley got the second goal a few minutes later in a similat charge innto the box.

In a "road company" version of the same match played in LA, the Crew seemed inspired by the result on their home turf and did the same to Chivas USA

A nice win for the US. I will not get into questioning Arena's starting XI right now, but it is something that needs to be addressed before Germany next summer.

Great result for Team USA. Onyewu was a force again. He made sure Borgetti was a non-factor. Beasley's goal was sweet, given the way he was kicked around all night.

    Gooch!

Sirk is the true master. He is great reporting on victories...as well as losses (which has carried me through this Crew season). His description of the tension in the stands for the first 53 minutes was perfect. My favorite was this gem:

The game was amazing, it's an experience that I won't forget for a long time. The Mexican fans inspired the American fans to raise their support up several notches and...gasp...stand up! I'm used to just hearing Sam's Army at USMNT games. On Saturday, we helped carry their songs throughout the stands (since we were near the FMF section). I just wish more soccer matches were like this (and yes, I know why they aren't).

I'm sure there were negatives to take away from the match...but I am still too pumped up right now to even figure out what they are. I'm looking forward to the next three matches and the chance to see other players get their shot at Germany.

Maybe Gooch could put Donovan on his work-out routine.

I'd imagine that in the future there's gonna be a lot more stuff like that with everyone owning digital cameras and camcorders and can put stuff on the net literally minutes after coming home from the game.
