US schedule for May and June

    The announcement of the venues by the U.S. Soccer Federation on Wednesday completed the calendar of matches for the Americans in late May and early June:

    May 26: Scotland friendly in Jacksonville, 8 p.m. (NBC Sports Network, Spanish outlet to be determined).

    May 30: Brazil friendly at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., 8 p.m. (ESPN2, Univision, ESPN3.com)

    June 3: Canada friendly at BMO Field in Toronto, 7 p.m. (NBC Sports Network).

    June 8: Antigua qualifier in Tampa, 7 p.m. (ESPN, ESPN3.com, Spanish outlet to be determined).

    June 12: Guatemala qualifier in Guatemala City (time, TV tba).


    Anybody else think these are a lot of matches schedule in such a short time period?

    yeah, it seems like they could do with one less friendly in that time frame. We already were one of the most fit teams on the planet I dont really get why Klinsmann is so dead set on pushing them even further. All the games would be okay, I think, if he fully utilizes his allowed subs but then doesnt that kind of work against the purpose of preparing the team for qualifying? I hope he is not taking Guatemala in Guatemala City too lightly.

    Does seem like a lot but, as Dan Kaffee pointed out succinctly in "A Few Good Men," 'we need the practice.' Would be a good chance to get some of the youngsters and second stringers some meaningful int'l experience, if he chooses to go that route (fingers crossed). We're still some 27 odd months away from Brazil, so playing more now as opposed to then might actually be of some benefit down the road.
