Spurs may be disappointed about yet another year looking up at the Gooners in the table, but they've still got a great chance at UEFA Cup qualification. A win today would vault them past Bolton, Reading and Portsmouth and into 6th place, with a game still in hand on all three. As much as Charlton need a result out of this, I think Spurs want all three points.

Edit: BBC Sport credits Spurs with 78% of possession so far in the game. Ouch.

Over an hour gone and no breakthroughs for Charlton yet. Keep it up, Spurs!

Edit: Steed on for Lennon in the 60th minute. Help us out, boyo.

10 minutes plus stoppage time now left for Charlton to save their season. Anything less than a win and they're relegated.

If they do go down, I wonder whether Darren Bent (he's the good one, right?) might be available at a good price.

There's online audio available from BBC Radio Five. Not great quality, but they do seem to have turned off the "UK Only" filter.

Edit: And just as I discover that, the ref blows the final whistle. 2-0 to Spurs, who move into 5th place and a likely spot in the UEFA Cup. Charlton are going down.

    Edit: 6th, rather. My bad.

    FULHAM ARE STAYIN' UP!

    COME ON FULHAM!

I feel for Charlton, after experiencing a relegation 'near miss', it is hard to take especially with all of the extra money coming in next year.

Thank you Tottenham for not being lame for once!

The Cottagers are staying up! Let's beat Middlesbrough for some extra cash, re-tool the defense, get a new coach, get a new striker, and GO ALL THE WAY AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE!

To move higher than the current 15th, FFC would need to beat Boro, and Citeh would need to lose to Spurs, and the combined goal differentials would need to be at least 6. (Or, for the sake of argument, Newcastle would need to lose to Watford, and the combined goal differentials would need to be at least 11.)

Still, a win would hold solid in 15th, regardless of out-of-town results; a loss or draw could see FFC as low as 17th.

Watching the highlights of the Spurs game made me think of a player that missed the entire season for Charlton and was sorely missed this past WC for the USMNT...Cory Gibbs, not sure what his situation is (health, contract, etc.), but always considred him our best defender.

SCJ, read an interview with Cory about a month ago. He feels like he'll be ready for summer camp this year. Although three managers have come and gone since he was signed, he said that Curbishly had said to him several times "just get better; you're an important part of our future."

I agree with your assessment of his talents. He and Gooch are our best centre pair; not having him alongside cost us at least one win in the cup.
