Who is your dog in this fight? Tom, any Polska teams?

I think I have to go with an EPL squad known as the Toon Army. They are far north enough that I don't see too much of a conflict of interest.

FFCinPCB, you need to read the "Teams I [find rather distasteful] the Most" thread. There are a lot of anti-Newcastle Utd. folks on the site.

In honor of my late father, I'll pick "MyPa." I know nothing about them, but their name is as fun to say as is "Galatasary." Actually, once they get bounced from the CL, I look for Liddypuddle to take the UEFA as a consolation prize.

The "Grasshopper" team was also a consideration for your above reason, and perhaps may be more so after reading your recommended post.

I see the rationale now, classic underachievers who think they belong at the "cool" table. I kind of feel sorry for them. Apparently that subsides after a while.

I'm gonna stick with them and the Grasshoppers, for this year!

See that Brad Friedel's Rover's side are playing against Visla Krakow today, and I was wondering if ChiTom has adopted a Polish club side yet.

Not too Fulhamish to choose these guys, though, since they are usually 1, 2, or 3 in the Polish top flight.

Krakow has taken one in the shorts. Wislaw 1-2 Blackburn.

Guess I will pay homage to my roots and pull for Sparta Prague. Not a very Fulhamish choice either.

    Hows abouts youse, Hatter?

Don, in European competitions I cheer for all the Polish teams. The reason I do that is because they are all very unsuccessful in European competitions and it would be nice to see Wisla Krakow make it past the group stage. I doubt it will happen, but you never know.

As for the Polish club teams I cheer for, I support Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala and Lechia Gdansk. The reason I chose those two clubs is because my wife lived in Bielsko-Biala before she moved to America and that is where one of her sisters lives right now and where we will stay over Christmas and New Years.

I cheer for Lechia Gdansk because my wife's other sister lives in Gdansk. I have the kits and all.

Both of these clubs are in the second division. The Coca-Cola Championship of the Polish league. Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala is having a bad season thus far and might get relegated if they do not get it together soon.

Jeez, it must take the fans cheering most of the first half just to spell out their name! :D

And good on ya for [a] supporting all the Polska teams, and for cheering for the lower division guys!

Nobody in the Cajun League to cheer for, so I'll go for the teams that have Americans in the squad.

Don, I will always support the Polish teams. With my wife and her family from Poland, it is important to me to take in the tradition and heritage of Poland.

In fact, since the day Poland was eliminated from the World Cup in June I have worn a red band on my wrist that says, "Polska." I will wear it until the next time Poland makes it to either the European Championships or the World Cup.

My Czech Club, best I can tell from my limited search of ancestors, is FC Viktoria Plzen (Pilsen). Am searching for the kit presently. In the Czech first division, but not a regular contender. However, Pilsen = Pilsner = Beer. 'Nuff said.
