Got better as the season went on in the Premier League, but we all know he’s one of the very best at the Championship level.

I think he can be just as good in the Premiership, given the right circumstances, if we get back up quickly. He’s 28, and I feel, as he probably does, that this season was a wash for him. We all know his weaknesses: favors his dominant left foot too much, not particularly speedy or quick, not much help on defense. He also seemed surprised at how much more physical the big boy league is. Got knocked off the ball or just down a lot this season expecting a foul that he probably got in the Championship. I think he’s learned a lot this season. There’s no doubt about his playmaking ability. His passing vision is almost supernatural. And he seems to be a genuinely good guy. This makes me happy.
