For those who listen to the daily soccer radio show, the 2 G's, www.the2gs.com I will be on there tomorrow as a guest talking about our vey own FulhamUSA.com at 11:30AM Chicago time. You can listen by going to their website, which is listed above and click the "Listen Now" button at the top of the page to listen to it in Windows Media. The show starts at 11AM Chicago time and is on for an hour.
RE: The 2 G Thats about 4:30 pm my time, so I'll be sure to listen in. Good Luck and remember, do what Gentleman Jim does, never refer to the Blue Poo by their real name. Just refer them as, well, 'them'. Man I miss Jim.
RE: The 2 G I agree. Wish they'd have given you, us, and FFC ["he's not a Premeirship player, but for Fulham, ok"] more props, but you did a GREAT job of representing us.
Re: RE: The 2 G Yea...that was a nice backhanded comment, wasn't it? As for the time, it seems like they spent a good bit of the show cutting off everyone they talked too. Is that a normal part of their format? If so, maybe they should have less features so they can focus on the individual topics better. At least Tom received props for not being a ManUre fan!
RE: Re: RE: The 2 G You did great Tom, I also caught the show. I think they both may have a bit of an inferiority complex since they support 'bigger' teams. They automatically think Fulham is just 'nice, little and inferior'. Haha, we beat both their teams with-in the last year or so. COYW'S
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G What happened is that I saw supposed to be on for longer. I sent them my cell phone number four or five times and they ended up calling my work number. I was out of the office for that and I should have had five more minutes. It was probably my fault, but I had a good time doing the interview. Normally they do not do a lot of cutting off, but sometimes in radio you are up against a break and when someone like me is just rambling, they need to cut me off. I would say the show that cuts people off the most is World Soccer Daily. Cheers and thanks for kind words my friends!
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G Defnitely not implying that you were rambling. To me, it seemed like they were short with everyone that contributed, like they had overscheduled. Heck, if you get on a radio show like that...I say run with it! It's not often that we get to hear about a football ground not called Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G Juxxy, I was not implying you were saying that but I was just going on and on and like you said, I had my minutes on the soapbox and took advantage. Thanks for listening Juxxy!!
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G Hey Tom, enjoyed your bit on the 2 G's. Your story sounds very similar to mine: started with Man U, didn't want to be on the bandwagon, found Fulham. Well done. Also, I grew up in Mt. Carmel, IL down in southern IL. I think we almost played Pontiac in the 3A (or 4A?) football playoffs a few times. If I remember correctly, in 1992, my senior season, we Pontiac was next if we'd beaten Harrisburg.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G BC, Small world mate! I played on that team as a sophomore in 1993. Actually I played one play in the final. We beat Waterloo that season for the state championship. This would have been the 3A playoffs. Crazy stuff how you remember Pontiac and I remember Mt. Carmel. Up here in Chicago when Mt. Carmel is brought up nobody thinks of your high school rather the Mt. Carmel up here that is a powerhouse in football. However, I always remember your school as well. Definitely a small world.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G No kidding! I actually mistyped the year in my previous post. My senior season was 1993-94. I'm pretty sure you guys were up next for us had we beaten Harrisburg. Unfortunately, that game was one of my worst sports memories ever. We were down by a field goal with a minute left and we were driving on them. About 30 yards from goal, the QB and I got out of sync on a running play (I was the running back) and I fumbled and Harrisburg recovered it; game over. I still won't watch that game 13 years later! Anyway, never thought I'd run across someone whose high school I knew or vice versa at FulhamUSA. Small world indeed!
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The 2 G Hey Tom, Do you have an email for the 2 G's, I wanted to email them to thank them for having you on the show and giving Fulham some deserved exposure.
