Congrats Seattle! You have come up with the ugliest jersey ever made!

 

Maybe they thought just becasue they put XBOX on the front nobody would notice the rest of the train wreck.

 

I am just hoping the second kit will be better. This one is terrible.

 

These were leaked a long time ago - funny that it has the XBOX logo on it. SO I guess they have known this for some time. The light one is not great, but it is better then what they unveiled yesterday.

 

Call me crazy (or blind), but I kind of like the kit. The colors are evocative of the Pacific Northwest, and it's more interesting than some of the more "classic" (read: boring) uniforms we see in the league. It's not high fashion, but I don't think it's terrible.

 

Wait, so which ones are they actually wearing? The one at the top looks lime green, the one Jensers posted looks like a much less offensive tree green.

I sent them an e-mail to tell them that they should include the fans in the decision of what jersey to go with... Maybe every fan that puts in the price of the jersey should get a vote. They have been going on and on about how this is going to be a democratic club...

 

The top one... The bottom one is apparently from a design firm that was asked to kick around some ideas, but they went with a different company so they leaked their images to mls-rumors.com

Yes - the top one is a weird green, but it has as much to do with the blue that makes it look just the same as everyone feels in the middle of a Seattle winter - DEPRESSED.

 

Here is a picture of the flag with logo.

Now - if you look at the blue in the logo it is a lighter - almost Sky Blue. I think we should go with that - We all need a little more sky blue in our vision when you are in Seattle.

There is plenty of depressing green regardless of if you can see the sky - lets brighten up our life a little and evoke something other than most obvious and anti-creative.

 

I am completely cornfused. Not only are there 3 different kits to consider, but there are 3 different logos??

Aaaah, love the MLS and how foreign footy is to our North American design firms. What a joke.

 

No - there is only one that is official. That is the first on posted. Also - the logo on the first one and the logo on the flag are official as well... Yes I agree - this thread can be confusing.

All I am saying is that I dont like the Official Jersey (The first one posted). I wish they would go with a lighter, brighter, and generally more optimistic looking color scheme (Like the sky blue one that was apparently rejected).

 

OK, I'm nuts too. It has kind of grown on me.
That's coming from someone who likes "Shark's" Teal.
I like it because it is like nothing else, not another Red, Black...
As in when I turn on the tube and I will know right away that the Sounders are playing, if that makes sense...

I don't see what the complaints are......... It looks perfectly fine to me. Its not the best but its not nearly as ugly as you dissatisfied judges make it out to be. I personally liked what the rejected design firm made better but I digress..... At least its a relatively simple design.

 

The Juve models of strip and logo look infintely better than what they decided to go with. But then again, we are talking about the home of one of the worst baketball jerseys and names of all time, the yellow supersonics.

I really dislike the swoops, that would emphasize beer gut if there was one. Or maybe that's the idea. but we all have to live with that

 

First, nothing could possibly be uglier than that flourescent thing devised by the optic-yellow poo up the road.

Second, even though I like the crest, this uniform is heinous. I hope they are open to revisions. I'm still intrigued by the team. Heck, I'm a Carolina Hurricanes fan -- ugly unis don't scare me too bad.

 

why is it ugly if it's bright? Should every team just blend in? Just because it's unique, doesn't make it a bad color scheme. How cool will it be to see Qwest Field filled with a sea of electric green? When you see someone wearing the shirt, you'll know it's a Sounders fan, and I think differentiating yourself from the rest is a good idea.

Worst thing, the people that don't like it are talking about it. The jersey alone, by the end of the year, is worth probably worth another 5 minutes on Fox Soccer Report / Sportscenter.

 

For me bright does not eqaul ugly. In fact, after seeing the Crew jerseys in person I love the bright yellow but that green really hurts my eyes. Of course, it may look much better in person than it does in the picture.
