    Hello everyone,
Well atleast I came away with something from the match at Blackburn...a cold!!

Here is some news that will brighten your Monday...from a very reliable source as usual. I've been holding on to numbers 1 and 5 for a few weeks but the rest is news to me today and comes from Barra Boy at TFI:

    • 1) Dempsey deal is agreed, Charlton want him as well but he has chosen Fulham, pre contract agreement being drawn up and he will sign in January for 2 million.

2)McBride is close to signing a new 2 year contract

3)Boa will stay until the end of season amd then FFC will let him go for 4-5 million unless a silly offer comes in January.

4)Cookie is speaking to 2 other un named players agents this week.

5)The board are talking to design consultants about developing the Cottage into 28k capacity for next season rising to 32k soon after.

6)Al Fayed wants Fulham to win something while he is the gaffer, his 19 year old son is officially a director of his empire and will have a hands on role at at Fulham, the good news is that he loves the club so funds look okay long term.

    Your thoughts?

    Hip-Hop-Hooray........hoooooo, haaayyyyy, hoooooooo!!!!

All great news, even the Boa part. Only icing on the cake would be Don's favorite defensive player (mine too).

    Awesome!

If it's true that Fulham are going to get Dempsey and Vukcevic in January, then it seems the team's direction is for creative, attacking midfielders/forwards. Have there been any rumors on getting any more traditional Fowards or Defenders?

It's good to hear Al Fayed wants to win something, but I'm not seeing it happen this year or next.

Only two things could come out of Gooch going to Real... and both of them are bad, in my view.

He sits a lot or doesnt even make the bench

He works his way into starting lineup and excels... which triggers raids on the MLS. Yeah.. convoluted thinking but good CB's arent that easy to come by anywhere, and only a few can come anywhere close

    - not to mention makes us look bad for not locking him up.

As I wrote on the front page, I hope that "silly" offer comes in for Boa Morte in January. Both he and the club need to part ways. His inconsistent play is not helping the club and if there is money to be made from him, there will surely be a club willing to pay 4-5 this January to get him.

In my opinion, you are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. At times, as he was against Arsenal, he was a part of the solution, but more often than not he is part of the problem and performs houdini acts and simply disappears from games. Captains and leaders do not do that the way Boa does. It is time for him to leave.

Wow! Sounds good to me. I'm particularly thrilled about Dempsey coming to Fulham. I really believe he will fit in well.

Expanding the Cottage will be interesting. It seems like it would be a hard thing to do. Not much land to expand to. To someone with no real knowledge of architecture such as my self it seems the only way to go is up, like literally up. Will they be looking at adding a another tier on one of the main stands? Let me just say I hope they are very careful. Theres little doubt that if we can we should add capacity as we have one of the smallest stadiums in the EPL. But I'd absolutely hate to see the cottage lose its charm in the process. It would also suck to have to play at QPR for a season again. *edit* Not that I was around when we were playing at QPR I just imagine it really sucked :(

I'm a little confused about that as well. Most of the modernizing of old stadia actually reduced capacity [all-seater; specialty/luxury boxes]. And, of course, you can't just stick a new tier up. Architects will tell you that when the change a plan from a 20 story building to a 25 story building, the 5 new floors are added to the bottom, not the top.

I just hope they keep the same character.

Glad to hear about Brian and Clint.

More seats mean more tickets/revenue, so unless as mentioned above it changes the atmosphere, I am for it.

I think the best news in Mike's post is the expansion of the Cottage. As I recall, the plans for the Cottage renovations that were supposed to take place during the Loftus Road years would have put us at around 30,000. I think this is great news because it would be very hard to maintaina spot in the Premiership with a 22,000 seat stadium.

The Cottage was expanded over the summer Dave and our official capacity is now 24,600 and we sold it out against Arsenal for the first time. They added rows of seats in front of each stand and it makes a remarkable difference.

If further expansions are expected then its up because it can't be any further down with out tempting the Thames on to the pitch!! I just wonder where they can find another 4,000 seats by next season. I also agree, its a very good bit of news.

For American Mike - I don't know what convention is in the states, but now you are in England, we do not get colds, women get colds, we get man-flu and require round the clock attention, usually invovling having our browse mopped. :)

Expansion of the cottage is good news, it has always been problematic as the riverside is the obvious site to increase, but the view from the river needs special planning that can only be granted by the home seceratary (or some such nonsense).

If we are not careful we are going to have to change from black and white to red, white and blue! Top info.

Mike, thanks for the update on the capacity. One of these days, I'll get to go there and see it for myself!

Maybe just some blue stars in the shield.

Kidding. How hideous would that be. Colors and shield are perfect as is. Only additional color will be added when we beat the teams black and blue. :x

We'll get you there one day Dave.

I'm very excited about about Dempsey although I admit, I am very cautious about his immediate impact. I haven't watched him enough to know if he could handle it in the prem.
