Informative article with some background on the situation in Egypt. Such a tragedy. I hate that sports is so mixed up with politics and religion in some parts of the world. Ives is now reporting that the Egyptian government has disbanded the Egyptian FA. Dont know what that means for Bob Bradley but my hope is that he could end up getting his team together for a long camp in another country until this mess is sorted out.

If you look at the first video in the article, you do see armored security people standing together doing nothing. Maybe it was too late at that point or they were awaiting more help, but it doesnt look good in light of the allegations.

Bradley and his wife marched with Egyptians in protest of the violence and as a show of respect/support for those personally affected. After all the shock and horror has been felt, I hope Bob is able to keep the team together. Some of the players have already said they are going to retire. If he could get them out of Egypt, training with the national team, I could see that as something that could bring them together, help them deal with what has happened. I hope quitting isnt the answer. This could be something that causes soccer to move forward there, helps the people come together, or it could be the begining of the end. I really hope it is the former.

Three people have already been killed in the demonstrations.

I certainly don't blame the players for having that immediate reaction after witnessing that violence. Egypt is going through some aftershocks of their recent revolution, and time will be needed to heal the country's wounds. I only hope cooler heads prevail and the country unites against this violent behavior, as there is no sense in continuing the cycle. And I hope Bob's Egyptian team can play a part in reconciliation.
