Yanks and the Wednesday have proven to be a good mix. Good for him to finally be back to match fitness, just too bad he's gonna lose to FFC.

Good for Frankie, hope the ankle holds up. Now if Spector gets healthy there will be some good competition in the back.

    Simek back!...again!

Frankie not only made an appearance, but went the full 90 for Sheffield Wednesday to the overwhelming delight of the supporters. The fans seranded him with "Frankie, we still remember you".

Doubtful that he can make a late push to make the USMNT team, but if the young man can stay healthy and take back the rb spot for Wednesday an invitation to the final camp is not out of the realm of possibility.

Look at it this way, a healthy Simek and Cherundolo enable Spector to be in the mix for CB or LB, and we can leave Bornstein and Wynne at home.

Too bad Wynne is so rough around the edges. He's got all of the tools, just doesn't yet understand enough about how to use them.

But, I'd take Simek over either of those guys. From my understanding in talking to a Wednesday fan, they consider him the consumate, dependable professional.

According to match report on BBC, Shef Weds had FIVE players sick with a flu virus. Probably why Simek was pressed into service.

Simek also received a yellow card.
