    This story about Kalou caught my eye.

    I didn't know this, I think its lame!

    If Kalou did mean what he they say he meant then good for him if he believes it. But he should really get some spine and stand by it, not deny instantly. Like Roman can't afford the fine! Same old Chelsea.

    did it every occur to the FA that "banning political statements" is, in fact, a political statement?

    Football associations are supposed to be apolitical. Any national assiciation that is not independent of political interference risks being banned by FIFA from competitions. A few years back Greece (or was it Turkey?) nearly got banned. In reality the FA are trying to ensure that they are not seen to endorse a political statement.
