Daniel and Carter play the ultimate mis-employed geeks thrust into totally alien environment of military black ops, and they really chew the scenery, so to speak.

I really liked SG-1. Yep, better than the movie... old as I am, this is the same concept as Star Trek, except with better effects and acting.

I saw an article a few days ago that said SF was as dead as the western.

Well, only for the same reason. No fun! Westerns that are fun.. read humor... would make it unless they try too hard, like 'wild wild west'. Same with SF. That's why SG Atlantis wont last long.
