Schumer: Keep up the good work, Dems!

Just got another DSCC email from Chuck Schumer, on the need for a filibuster-proof congress

That way, Pelosi and Reid's program to avoid drilling while shoveling piles of money to 'research on fuel alternatives' and green companies they've invested in will pan out. While the Europeans finally realize the US is not doing its fair share.

Sorta telling isnt it.. when your competitors/suppliers call you out on not producing your own.

 

That's actually very interesting, I have to admit.

However, I wonder what these countries who are exploring and finding oil and eventually set up oil derricks do about the potential pollution problems that have faced the US in the past when we actually did off-shore drilling.

I hope you'd agree that it is fair that we find a solution to contain any potential environmental problems before we resume. If this wasn't an environmental issue, I doubt people would have as much of a problem with it as they do now.

I do however, think it's fair that we do our part.

Worth the risk? Debate on offshore drilling heats up (indicates that technology is far more advanced these days, making oil spills less likely - lets hope)

They are well aware of them. It's a straw-man. The REAL opponents, besides those with financial interests, are eye-pollution activists. See Teddy on wind power. Moot point, THERE, too. Wont be any derricks or platforms within 50 miles, you betcha.
