Certainly it is not the fault of those workers. Both planes are known quality items. Nonetheless, times are exceedingly tough and will probably get worse.

However, here is the Pettyfog plan to get them back into the pentagon's budget.

1. Merge the local unions into SEIU.

2. Designate several C17's as special mission versions and give them to Pelosi, Emanuel, and Al Gore. Build a Carbon Credit Certificate printer into Gore's plane.

3. Explore a Three way merger with GM-Chrysler and ACORN.

4. Hire 20,000 East St Louis residents into expanded 'Accounts Receivables' department.

5 Convert (GE, obviously) engines to run on corn methanol with help from ADM and Con-Agra.

6 Sell them to China for 'Cost plus delivery' in 2005 dollars.
