Took a look today at the local Saturn dealer. Quite nice. I know you guys in Europe and elsewhere have had these for a while but in the US it is brand new. Interesting Fact: Engine is made in Hungary, transmission in Japan, German part content, final assembly point Belgium. And this is an American car? 8)

Hope that turns out better than Ford's 'world car' efforts. Judging from what I read and hear, it is though.

The Vauxhall Astra is a very popular car in the UK not sure it will have the same inpact over here in the US seeing it has a "Saturn" Badge?

People in the United States will complain there are not enough cupholders and the ones that are there can't hold there 64 oz. big gulp from Seven Eleven. Nice car, good fit and finish and excellent price. The three door xr in red is beautiful!

Heh.. that's what we USED to say about the Vauxhall and Opel badges in the 'old days'.

the Chev twin will take care of that, for a while anyway. That's why I referenced the Mondeo/Contour

The Contour was a nice handling little sports sedan. The svt version was incredible!

Remember the Merkur xr4ti? Those were awesome.

the all-time best "American" car that made its debut as a European model was, without a doubt, the Ford Taurus. I remember GI's in England and Germany getting all excited because Ford was finally coming out with a US version.
