From an apparent suicide. For those east of California it's hard to tell you how big an icon he was. An USC All-American, a larger than life person while with the Chargers (his charitable work was legendary). Was listening to Marcellus Wiley who has a radio show here in LA and was a former teammate and close friend of Junior's and trying to describe what he is going through at the moment was heartbreaking.

Damn. That's really all I got. He was a class act and I'm shocked by the news. RIP Junior Seau.

Such a sad thing when someone takes their own life. It so much worse for everyone he left behind....

Suicide is horrible. And often times, though not always, preventable. Sad that a young man who had accomplished so much in this life chose to end it.

It just goes to show that the rich, talented, and famous can still be possessed by the same demons as the rest of us. So sad.

RIP Junior. Very sad news and a very unsettling trend of altruistic suicides may be developing. I hope we can find a way to pull back the reigns on professional sports.

Listened to Taylor Twellman on Sportscenter who was a friend and neighbor of Seau's when Junior was playing at the end of his career w/the Pats and Twellman at dinner was telling Seau of his headaches from his concussions and he said Junior laughed and said he's had a headache for about a decade. This is so eerily similar to Dave Duerson who shot himself (former NFL Man of the Year, philanthropist, who went through depression/early signs of dementia) in the chest and left a request to have his brain studied.
