    Cheapen it!
One layer below Red Bull / NY

It's another Utah MLM scheme... think of 'AmWay' logo on kits.

Hey, we had this debate a long time ago. I think it was a good one too. I'm no good at finding things like that. Petty, any idea?

Yeah, but if you can get your friends to buy kits, and then sell kits to other people who will sell kits, your golden.

Corporate sponsorship saved the European and South American fitba leagues. If we don't have trouble selling the naming rights to the parks, why should we have trouble with kit sponsors.

    This is MLS growing up!

Look I dont think Red Bull is going to be around in 10 years..{snapple}.. and the failure rate of Mormon MLM outfits is legion.

Get it while you, i suppose, but I'd feel better if I didnt have to struggle to remember what the Logo was for...

Of course I may not even recognize the Ford Blue Oval in 10 years...

1 million a year for three years...quite a bit of money if you ask me for a league still trying to broaden its fanbase, especially considering it's the first deal struck. I'd expect more to happen before the start of next season.

Yeah, I know MLS started allowing this after this recent 2006 season. I hope every team gets one (OK, Red Bull NY is good to go as is), all the teams could use more money. Plus, the logo on the uniform isn't that bad; it's not glaringly ugly. Though it'll be fun to yell XANGO~!

I like this change that MLS is giving to its owners, and most teams already have their team name across their shirt so you mind as well get paid and have a sponsor.

Honestly, I find this a lot less annoying than the sierra mist logos slapped on the back of MLS shirts.

I feel the same way. No reason to have both the club name and badge on the front of the shirt.

In general, I despise corporate logos being so prominent on shirts. I guess I'm used to NFL/MLB/NHL/NBA jerseys which haven't succumbed to sponsor logos (I'm kind of surprised that they haven't yet). That being said, the money that comes with these sponsorships will be a boon to the league and in the end will probably be a positive factor.
