I have a question for the Brits on this site about Delia, who I guess owns Norwich, or is their chairman, or some piece of big brass there. I saw a clip of her on YouTube, and I won't waste anyone's time by posting a link to it as she was just being a total moron. Just ranting and raving and acting like an embarrassing fool in front of her fans. So I ask: Is this par for the course for her, or did she just have a bad day and have the misfortune to have it caught for posterity on the internet. I've never heard of her before, and I can't imagine owning Norwich is a big cash cow so I guess she deserves some credit for stepping up in that regard, but geez -- anyway, thanks for any info that you provide.

Delia is a national treasure that has taught the UK how to cook. She is usually a very reserved person. Assuming you are talking about the "Lets be having you" speech the she was having a very off day.

She was a director of Nowrich (she has sold up now I beleive) and was very unimpressed with the crowds support during the first half. I think they were playing Man U and were loosing 2-0 at the break and she tried to inject life into the crowd who rightly thought "here we go again".

It will go down in football with the "I would love it..." rant from Kevin Keegan when he was at Newcastle. I would think they are both a little embarred by their outbursts now, but personally I am glad to see the passion.

Thanks for the info -- it was the "let's be having you" rant. They talked about her today on WSD, helpfully pointing out how hammered she was when she did that. And how Fulham sealed their relegation a few years ago on the last day of the season with a 6-0 asskicking -- that was outstanding.

I asked because I'd never heard of her, and in the video clip everyone responds with comments like She's a &#%$, she sucks, she punched out the Queen, etc. I didn't want that to be my only knowledge of her, again, it can't be easy financing. I'm happy for her passion and hope she never does anything like that again !

I used to do that routine to death; it was quite funny, actually. She'd had a wee bit too much to drink during the first half of that match, and as the Canaries started stinking up the place, their fans sat on their hands and were dead quiet.

The aftermath was pretty humorous, too: I recall watching the final match of the season and there was good ol' Delia, amongst the punters at Craven Cottage. Every time the camera was on her, she seemed to make a point of showing that she was drinking a bottle of water (or was it gin in a water bottle?) Anyway, that was when we actually trampled on a team and won 6-1.
