Betting on the wheels to come off the Crew is like betting on the sun to rise in the east. The only good team to emerge from Columbus wears Scarlet and Grey.
Indeed... that has me worried about the Earth's poles precessing. However... let's just use this to address the comment on another thread about the 'meaningless' games, so far. Every team is likely to hit a 'dry spell', then get hot later. In order to beat out Houston for that last spot in the playoffs, every point counts. But really, this is NOW Guille's team.. and they are really confidant.
Not that I have seen every MLS game but I have watched quite a few matches and in my opinion only three teams have put in quality performances across multiple games so far this year. 1. Columbus - To date they are the most complete team in the MLS. They have multiple scoring threats, a creative playmaker, a solid defensive midfield and the defense is not the best in the league but have been gowing stronger as a unit as the weeks progress. 2. Chicago - The Fire are probably stronger defensively than the Crew but they also have been lacking a little punch going forward. 3. Toronto - Yes I know this could come back to bite me but in their last for games since upgrading their midfield and changing formations this has been a solid squad. Still a little lacking in the scoring department but solid none-the-less.

Since then, besides the obvious improvement by adding Schelotto, and the surprise performance of Adam Moffat, an unsung difference is taking Brian Carroll from DC, to fill the midfield gap existing since Simon Elliot left and Dunc Oughton was hurt again. With the performances of Moffat and Robbie Rogers, not much attention has been paid to Carroll. But the form of the team, increasing its through midfield attack percentages, shows his effect on the team: Schelotto gets the ball at his feet more; Moreno is ready, Moffat and Rogers are streaking up... Crew scoring percentage goes up humongously! Rumor: Adam Moffat getting knee surgery? Update:Confirmed So who will fill that gap.. Crew just signed Nigerian U23 Emanuel Ekpo who looked somewhat promising in his 30 plus subbing minutes on Saturday.

That field is horrible. It is hard to watch. If the MLS wants to appear serious, they should do something. Steven Cohen said he put the game on and turned it off once he saw all the lines, the big U, etc...
