Pelosi II: Winds of gruntlement

    LA Times: Pelosi's rocky start shouldn't include bypassing the best candidate to chair the House Intelligence Committee.

    The WORST thing Pelosi could do, not only for the US but for her own credibility in the long run is to persist in promoting Hastings for the job.

    Well, maybe not.. she MIGHT have tried to get some Patrick Leahy type on there.

    Hastings, having been proved to be bribable in the past, brings questions about what he might do if the temptation and 'rewards' were exponentially higher. Surely it's a different thing to fix a case than sell out national security... but Leahy proved that what qualifies as a 'threat to Security' is all in the mind of the beholder.
