Greetings Fulham supporters. This seems an opportune time, after lurking for almost a year, finally to enter the fray. It has been a lot of fun getting to know the regular contributors, and learning more about the Fulham tradition.

Despair at 10:30 a.m. local time, was replace with near-confident hope when my son informed me that Fulham actually won!!!

My son plays for our high school and for a club team out of Cape Girardeau, MO and we got FSC a couple years ago. My son is an avid Arsenal fan, but I wanted another team to cheer for. As I was searching about, I saw an interview with Cookie Coleman and (rightly or wrongly) was impressed with his demeanor. I loved McGod from his World Cup play and decided to ally myself with Fulham. The more I learn about the club and its supporters, the happier I am (remotely possible relegation notwithstanding). I was recently in England with my father and made the pilgrimage to the Cottage. What a thrill! It’s a lovely area, and it’s a ground that reeks tradition. I had a beer at the Golden Lion and some fish and chips from the shop down the street. As it turns out, Fulham is reasonably close (read west side—Hanwell actually) to where my father grew up, so that gives me another connection. My son, a crazy and unsatisfied Arsenal fan, is merciless against Fulham, but he can never feel the satisfaction of an away win at Reading. (Thanks pettifog.) The win at Manchester City feels even better. I live and die for Fulham as I have done for the Cleveland Browns (and still do!).

Though most of life revolves around Fulham, I teach English at high school, enjoy theatre immoderately, and follow my children’s many interests, which, fortunately, mirror my own—or vice versa.

I look forward to becoming more involved in the FulhamUSA community.

Welcome again Terrier. One of my best friends went to SIU and while he's back in Chicago, brags about his time in your hometown.

    Any tournaments in St. Louis?

Terrier, will your son's club team be playing in any tournament in St. Louis this Spring? My boys are in a tournament this weekend sponsored by the Tony Glavin club. Two weeks from now, we'll be playing in the Lou Fusz tournament. They play U-11 for a club here in St. Louis.
