    I found out about Variable Star by Spider Robinson, from a storyline by Heinlein by reading my 'VWRC' blogs..well, Instapundit, anyway.

    Note the editiorial reviews.. fairly lukewarm, but I'm assuming it's because it really ISNT Heinlein, but a pastiche .. a word which I never used and assumed meant 'hodgepodge'. And that despite being accused of being an 'Intellectual' on the offal.
    {so... if pastiche is a respectful parody, I'd better change my youtube favorite folder for my Weird Al video's.. I had labeled it parody}

    Whatever.. Heinlein wrote unevenly, too and I liked what I'd read from Robinson.
    And if the subject matter is as described, it will hearken back to later "Dirty Old Man" Heinlein, where he let his sexual fantasies roam free.

    Sorta like Leo Frankowski in his amazing and unique CrossTime Engineer series.
    - Naw.. neither of them are anywhere near 'porn' just fanciful

    Note: On that.. read Frankowski's bio, and what he's doing now... looks like he is living out his fantasies.

    Pastiche is a fantastic word and people like George Lucus use it to publicly suck up to the people he stole idea's from.

    This should not be confused with 'Pastis' which is an aniseed flavoured french munt juice.

    For more information on this drink, best done with ice cold water and friends to carry you home, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastis.
