Nevland to Leave

    Erik Nevland will be leaving after the season and going back to Viking FC in Norway. A very solid professional and a good player coming off the bench. Had some memorable moments in the Great Escape season (goals to salt away the Reading away and Brum home matches). Thanks to Erik and good luck to him as he finishes out his playing career.

    Huh - too bad because he was a spark and a character, but it is probably time. Best of luck to him.

    If we'd have had AJ healthy and if Kamara had his shit together, Nevland would have gone in January. It was pretty well documented that he was only with us for a half season. He's been a good guy for us -- as long as he only played the last 20 minutes of a match. He was pretty much useless as a starter, and maybe the worst tackler I've ever seen [and yes, I've seen Scholes lots of times].

    Somebody in England is going to have to go to GJ and commisserate with the man because his heart will soon be off to Viking.

    Gah Nevland was one of my favorites (if not THE favorite). This saddens me. Maybe I can get an IDT international calling card and call GJ and share some memories.... At least I now have a Norwegian team to actually watch passively.
