    And here it goes again.

This time, Blackpool decided NOT to go by Portsmouth's script -- you know, when Spurs illegally negotiated with a manager of another club.

    So, last time,

    1. Spurs fire Ramos
    2. Spurs announce hiring of Redknapp
    3. Pompey says Redknapp isn't going anywhere because he's under contract.
    4. SOMETHING [?????????] happens
    5. Pompey release Redknapp from contract.
    6. Spurs sign Redknapp.

    This time,

    1. Leeds fire McAlister
    2. Leeds announce hiring of Grayson [who's under contract with Blackpool]
    3. Blackpool say Grayson isn't going anywhere because he's under contract.
    4. NOTHING happens
    5. Grayson submits letter of resignation Tuesday morning; signs with Leeds Tuesday afternoon.
    6. Blackpool refuse to accept letter; threaten legal action.
    7. ______________

Well, we all know what step 7 will be: Blackpool backs down. There will be no serious investigation of illegal poaching or "tapping up" on the part of either Leeds or Spurs, even though it is obvious to anyone who is remotely interested, that neither club fired their old manager until they had their new one already in their back pocket. There will be no censure nor points deducted. Pompey is in a nose dive and Blackpool will soon follow, but that's okay. Some clubs are just favored over others.

That's the way of it. The FA and the football league have no idea how to apply the word "ethics" to everyday doing of business.
