Much as I would like whatever Fulham fans visit this site to follow MLS during the summer, esp leading up to the exhibition in July, I'm afraid there's not much to see in the way of good footy.. at least not right now.

    Crew 0-2 Fire
I sat in the stands last cold, damp dreary night and watched my Crew play to match the weather against the same Chicago Fire that got humiliated 0-3 on their home pitch just Wednesday. Not only did the Crew get shut out at home, but the level of play was so bad that all the fans who watched agreed there was NO MOTM for the Crew.
Which is saying a lot because the Crew DOES have some pretty good talent, and a gonzo keeper.. like ED VdS. It's pretty bad when the bright spot of the night is that no one got hurt.
I picked Fire to end up 3rd in the East, last week.. nothing changed. They played fairly well.. but the Crew JUST SUCKED!

    NE 1-0 Chivas
Perhaps New England was looking past the hapless grape-pickers or maybe, as I have long feared would be the case, they have truly acquired the personna of their sister team, the Patriots.
Whichever.. they stay unbeaten by eaking out a single goal at home. I doubt the result has anything to do with improvement on the part of Chivas.. so let's just say NE drew the right opponent in which to have a letdown after they trounced the Fire in Chicago, midweek.

    LA Galaxy 2-0 FC Dallas
My thought is that this must have been the best match of the night.

Can Landon Donovan REALLY make that much difference to a team? Frankly such really didnt seem to be the case when he was at San Jose.
But LA has looked like a whole different team since he came on board. Dallas should have at least played level on this night, but maybe they're overconfident of their big guns.
I still pick Dallas to end up top, though... after all, Steve Sampson is LA's manager, he'll find a way to screw things up.

    KC 0-0 DC
WTH is going on here! KC shared top of table points last season, DC came on late to win the MLS Cup and looked strong doing it.

Cant blame this head scratcher on KC having a questionable keeper, or DC losing defensive heart, Ryan Nelson to Blackburn.

Who knows.. but it buttresses my argument that a scoreless draw should get you no points.

    Colorado 1-3 NY
My estimate of the MetroScum may need adjusting.. it wouldnt be significant if the result were at Giants Stadium, but this was at mile-high Denver and the flat-landers are supposed to be at a certain disadvantage and gasping for air. However the result was from a hattrick by a guy named Amado Guevara.. heh, my guess he's either descended from a line of high-plains Inca's or trains at Azteca.

    Real{ly} Salt Lake 2-2 San{s} Landon {er.. Jose}
Will SJ get it together? Kinnear is a good manager, but Ellinger may be better. These guys will run neck-neck all season.
