Yep, the MLS Playoffs have begun! In fact, I'm watching one of them right now.

EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS (Winner of 2 leg aggregate moves on)
#1 DC United vs. #4 New York Red Bulls
    Game 1 - Saturday 10/21, 2 PM, @ NY, HDNet
    Game 2 - Sunday 10/29, 6 PM, @ DC, ESPN2

#2 New England Revolution vs. #3 Chicago Fire
    Game 1 - Sunday 10/22, 1 PM, @ CHI, ABC
    Game 2 - Saturday 10/28, 7:30 PM, @ NE, HDNet

WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS (Winner of 2 leg aggregate moves on)
#1 FC Dallas vs. #4 Colorado Rapids
    Game 1 - Saturday 10/21, 9 PM, @ COL, FSC
    Game 2 - Saturday 10/28, 8:30 PM, @ DAL, FSC

#2 Houston Dynamo vs. #3 Chivas USA
    Game 1 - Sunday 10/22, 4 PM, @ CHV, ESPN2
    Game 2 - Sunday 10/29, 8 PM, @ HOU, FSC

Right now, I'm watching the New York Red Bulls trying to hold off DC United and get a decent result in leg 1.

Good luck for your boys on that, Op. We only get the pointy football out here on Saturdays unless it's from FSC.

Red Bull NY is going to suck. Maybe they'll pull through the first round with an upset at DC. They only lost 1-0 and looked very good. Guevara us back to his old form which is good news and with a great young player like Jozy Altidore up front the Red Bulls might just surprise.

I don't think Red Bull will pull 2 goals and hold DC to 0 at RFK, myself. I'm just happy they're there.

I was happy with the result of the Revs - Fire game. :D

Justin Mapp was great--he was all over the place. Which reminds me, Dempsey left the game injured.

I hope Fire can hold off the Revs to make it to the 2nd round.

I am hoping the Fire advance as well. Should be interesting on Saturday night. I would bet Dempsey plays.

I think Joseph is out for the second leg, so that makes it even hard for the Revs without their best player.

I know nearly nothing about these teams, which means my choice has just as much chance as anyone else.

In the famous words of The Cult, "Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire!, Smoke, she is a risin', Fire
    Oh, smokestack lightning."

Wow, what a game between NE and Chicago! Twellman played outstanding. Now I just hope they can do as well in the finals and pull off a win.

I was hoping NE won so I could see Dempsey in a couple more games before he goes to Europe. Great game and some very good coaching moves by Nicol in the second half.

Well, unlike Buchanan and kw I'm bummed Fire lost.

At least Coloradical advanced by beating Dallas!

Shouldn't Fire have won in regulation on away goal differential? BS.

They don't do "away goal differential" in the MLS playoffs.

So, if everything went according to my dreams, here are the rest of the playoffs:

D.C. knocks out N.E. (revenge for eliminating Chicago)

    Coloradical knocks out Houston

Final: After a goalfest of a game, Coloradical beats D.C. when DC puts one in the back of their own net with less than a minute to go in injury time. (sorry DCHeather...and other DC United fans)

Rumstove, I would be glad if DC make it past NE. I heard United didn't play too well against the Red Bulls @ home. Sigh.

NE looks the hottest team right now and DC didn't look their best in the two games against NY.
