    Drogba definitely 2 feet off

    how feckin' ORIGINAL!

    Yeah... left-handed!

    - Another bit of ignorance... had nothing to do with the thread which was about where the game was being played .. and the Raider fans DID NOT accept that easily, of course.

    - Ulster likes that 'cattle trucking' allegory.. reminds me of my two year old when my bros-in-law found out he used 'fruck' when he meant truck

    - I figure this guy is about 13 yo {After Derosario 20 yarder}
    - unbelievable

    - ????
    - Jaysus.... what if they were playing a mid-season Reading or PNE in the same circumstances!!!!

What a bunch of idiots... of course this might also be the opinion of many others who dont understand what 'match-fit' really means.

    Wasnt 'shocking, at all.

RE: Logging the Chelsea Chumps during the MLS game

I'm not sure why you bothered looking. Who cares what a bunch of Chelsea/UK fans think of MLS or American soccer? I don't get it; if a bunch Brits think we can/can't play the game, that means what?

Sorry, if Brits think we can play the game, fine, thanks for the compliment. If not, I'm not worried about their approval, nor do I need it.

Why is it when it comes to friendlies this pissing match always ensues. It was a friendly; nothing more, nothing less. I'm glad MLS beat those guys, but it doesn't mean a whole lot.

Now, now... remember--we are talking about Chelsea fans here. Not too many of 'em at or above a third-grade reading level. :3d funny:
Yes, fitness was an issue, but MLS was taking it to them in the first half as well.
And, as a native Houstonian, allow me to express pride in De-Ro for his wonderstrike!

The best part was the complaint about all the advertising... Um... doesn't it say "Samsung Mobile" in HUGE letters on the front of Chelsea's jerseys? Hm.

Yeah...I think Heather didnt quite understand whay I was logging it... figgered it'd be more entertaining than the game, though, for the second year in a row, the all-stars put together some serious linking play... as if they'd been training together for much longer.

I suppose part of that is how similarly most MLS teams play when they are 'on-form', the other is how often they see each other.

I really like John Terry... the skum thought their MOM was Lampard but I think Terry is the 'gamer'

And it COULD have been worse, they could have been playing DC United... what would they say, THEN!!!

I understand your reason behind posting it, you wanted to show how ignorant Chealsea fans are and engage in a little schandenfraude at the same time. But Fulham fans engaged in the same behavior after last years MLS All-star game on their messageboard. I just don't care for it and stopped listening to ignorant opinions on the States from the other side of the pond. (And I'm not saying all opinions from the other side are ignorant, just the type that are displayed above).

Actually i was relieved.. the soccer 'pundits' have been dissing Fulham's 2005 effort for more than the last two weeks. While anyone there could see what was up, then.

They are still at it.. using the term "SHOCK" about this game.. it wasnt a freakin shock.

Wow, there were a lot of fake Chelsea supporters at the game. And they really shut up when MLS scored. The game probably has zero meaning to Chelsea, but clearly meant a lot to the All-Stars (MLS I mean) - especially those guys who will never go to a World Cup - DeRo, O'Brien, etc. Albright looked very good. The MLS team would have beaten up on the USMNT (for what it's worth).

They obviously weren't watching the same match that the rest of us were... By the way, is it just me, or did the play-by-play announcer for ESPN2 really butcher some of the Chelski players' names?

I think alot of the fake Chelsea supporters bought the shirts but were cheering when MLS scored the goal. I always love going to the loser message board with their bitching and making excuses why they lost. :D

    Hehehe :D

I really enjoyed that. Seeing both MLS play well and the scum lose. Credit should be given to the all-stars. The back line held up remarkably well for guys who never play together. DeRo played a great game. I think he would look good in a Fulham shirt. To old to pay a transfer fee for him but he could certainly cut it.

You just know there were all kinds of fake Chelsea fans in fresh shirts at the game. Breaks your heart to see them disappointed doesn’t it? Interesting that the Chelsea fans on the mb saw the game. Chelseatv must have picked up the ESPN coverage. I recall going on there after our win over them and it was a very similar tone. I will have to listen to World Soccer Daily on Monday, as the last time I tuned in Cohen, who went to the game, was going on and on about how MLS is crap blah blah blah and that the all stars didn’t stand a chance and admitted that he would come back embarrassed if Chelsea lost.

Personally, I'm ecstatic that Chelsea lost and I'm happy for the All-Stars because its another notch in their belt. It may sound childish, and I'm ok with that but anytime scum fans go home dissapointed makes for a great day for me.

I also read that some Chelscum fans were causing trouble after the match, I mean really, a preseason friendly in a family environment and some fans stooped to a new low. Another reason I hate them and love Fulham. Shame on Chelsea.

Here is the standard squeamish post match interview from Mourinho.

    http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news ... &fext=.jsp

"We scored, in my opinion, a great goal," Mourinho said. "For sure, not offside. But it's not important in this moment."

err might want to look at the tape on that one Jose

You didnt miss much although I thought the MLS Side were the better side and Chelsea didnt show anything like what you would expect, on the day the better team won and it was a good goal.

It's always hard to know what to make of these friendlies. With Chlesea in their preseason and the MLS in the midst of their season, fitness was not equal. However, both teams are made up of allstars (Chelsea's wealth has enabled them to buy a team full of "allstars") and it's great to see that the best of our league can compete with them. Could the MLS allstars beat Chelsea in the middle of their EPL season? Not sure; maybe. It would be fun to see. Either way, I'm happy with the result.

Maybe it was the 6,7, or 8th beer...but the game really turned enjoyable for me...i mean at times it wasnt the best, but I really thought the MLS squad would stay w/ them for a bit and then even though its their first pre-season game, chelzski would show their skill on them..so kudos for the MLS squad for working hard....as for that fan forum, it is annoying and i can see why it is a pain to read...but we just have to let it pass, b/c it will most likely never change...or not anytime soon.....just the same as Americans joke about all other countries around the world having "great" pro basketball teams (by the way, the English basketball league kicks off soon...cant wait!!!)......but i kinda look at the "making fun" that chelzski fans were doin as in a way a sign that they were that bothered by the MLS squad/game/coverage of match/etc......if it was getting under their skin enough to type their displeasure or "FUNNY" jokes, then we (MLS/U.S.) must be doing something right

On a side note, I know the league is number one goal for all teams in leagues around the world...but MLS scheduled a match between chivas and rev's the day after the all star match.......dempsey and twellman and other quality rev players and a couple goats..but more importantly dempsey missed a good chance to get some more coverage and for MLS to showcase a talent that started in MLS...not saying it ended his chance of making it to prem, la liga, etc.....but makes me wonder what MLS execs are thinking......and the half-time entertainment???? WOW....could have gone for at least having Shakira up there dancing around....the entertainment in past has had some decent headliners...but maybe i'm a big time nerd (well...dont answer that!)...but who was that person at half-time..Lupe ????

anywho, hopefully that will set a tone for chelski of coming up short and bad things for them regarding loses in league, cup, and on all fronts....anyone would be kidding themselves if they think this match means MLS has arrived,,,,we all know it was a plus for MLS to have a "big team" playing them, and getting a result will possibly lure a couple fans out of the woodwork to watch a lil footey.....and as for chelzski....they can piss off and let the door hit them in the arse on the way out of America.....

p.s. Steven Cohen is a giant piece of poo!

For all you that scratch heads over the Chivas Revs game being played the same weekend... that was because the AllStar was moved up a week for Chelsea's sched.

And Chivas Revs couldnt be moved as it was part of a double header with Barca Friendly... to take advantage of 50,000 some seats in big stad. And you note Home Depot Center was under tons of dirt for X games
