RE: McClaren McClaren was Sir Alex's assistant at Man U. He then moved to boro where they played unattractive football and won a Micky Mouse cup, before somehow landing the England Job - mostly because he was Sven's assistant coach. So, it's fair to say McClaren is just a genuine number 2. English football has lost nothing by his moving on.
