MAC 25th Anniv

We're marking the Silver Anniversary of the computing legend AND the most famous SuperBowl commercial, evah!

I direct the gentle reader to this blog {whose owner nevers misses a chance to stir the sh%tpot} for the commentary on the box and those who use it.

It's the comments that enlighten.. but it's interesting that it goes on seemingly forever before someone points out the irony of that commercial.

That's RIGHT! Jobs had in mind to build a Corporate Monopoly EMPIRE in the name of anti-multinational non-conformity*. Unless your 'business' was doing something graphically creative in mom's basement, Apple had nothing for you. And what they had, you had to buy from them. Read the next few which detail that point.

Using a Mac was the geek version of going goth. You could join hundreds of thousands in the 'non-conformity club'.

Note the references that NOW if you REALLY want to run Mac applications, you can load OS X {along with other Unix releases} on some boxes right along with Windoze whatever.

* Fortunately by the time that commercial and the Mac were introduced, the 'Big Corp' stranglehold was already broken.. by a clever ploy inserted into his contract with IBM by none other than.. {gasp} Bill Gates!
Which begat Dell.. and Compaq.. and a host of other competyitve companies.
