I was just perusing the tables during the 7th inning stretch of Game 4 and noticed that Leeds is in serious danger of being relegated from the CCC:

Pl Team G W D L GF GA Diff Pts
    23 Leeds 13 3 1 9 11 26 -15 10

They are only three points off the 21st place safety spot, but they have the worst goal differential in the CCC.

I don't follow the CCC much but I thought they were strong candidates for promotion. What happened?

(D***it--the Cardinals just tied it up on an error by Rodney after Granderson fell down going for a fly ball. Arrrrgh!)

Kevin Blackwell happened, their now-former manager since he was recently sacked.

They just confirmed Dennis Wise as the new manager. Maybe things will start to pick up for them.

BTW, the MVP of Game 4: wet grass.

This is a match made in heaven....I have never liked Dennis Wise from his playing days at the other SW6 club and I did not like him at Millwall either. I have also never enjoyed Leeds at all so I quite enjoy the further demise of this once great club. Keep'em down!

You're a hard man, Tom. I have a soft spot for Leeds -- the best fish and chips in the UK is right across the street from Elland Road [well, it was in 1973 anyhow]. Most of the Northern cities have little to cheer for except their fitba sides. I'd hate to see them go down. It's sad enough to look in the tables and see Sheffield Wednesday on their uppers, never mind the Owls.

I think they'll survive this season; they're playing much worse than the total quality of their squad right now. But those who thought that they'd be promoted after making the playoffs last year must be sick.
