In yet another effort to get people to come listen to us, The Tim and Bob Show have promised a free soft drink to anyone who comes to tonight's gig with proof that today is either their birthday or their anniversary. This got me to wondering ...

... Is there anybody posting here for whom today is a birthday or anniversary? Or do you know anyone in this situation?

Look for the rapper Ja Rule at your gig tonight Don. BTW do you guys consider Coors Light a soft drink? Or better still will Jack Daniels be included w/the Coke??

    Happy Birthday, Katy!

A friend of mine, Bruce Brown, puts out baseball theme teams. Here is one for the February 29th birthdays:

Thanks to Randall Chandler for the idea. Mingori is properly a pitcher, but he did play one game in left in 1972. Hamilton is on this team by special invitation. He made his major league debut in 1888 (a leap year) and died in 1940 (a leap year). However his biggest ticket to play here is that in another leap year, 1896, he hit a precise .3652 .

    1b - AL ROSEN (1924)
    2b - Ralph Miller (1896)
    3b - Pepper Martin (1904)
    SS - Dickey Pearce (1836)
    C - Jerry Fry (1956)
    LF - Steve Mingori (1944)
    CF - Terrence Long (1976)
    RF - Billy Hamilton*

    Pitching
    RH - Bill Long (1960)
    RH - Al Autry (1952)
    RH - Paul Giel (1932)
    RH - Ed Appleton (1892)
    RP - Roy Parker (1896)

Echo b-day salutations to Mike's better half. Just curious AM, does she normally celebrate on the 28th or the 1st?

Good question Joe, and how old does she consider herself to be?

Because I once met this girl who told me she was 6 even though she was 24 because she was born on leap year and only counted her birthday once every four years. That was really creepy.

If your better half only has a birthday once every four years...is that legal Mike? Even in the UK???

And Al Rosen is arguably good enough to be in the Hall*, and was a 3B primarily.

*I would have bet good money he was already there.

SoCal Joe: We celebrate it on either day...it all depends what day the 28th or 1st land on, but generally its on the 1st.

Katy is exactly '7' today...so a bit younger than me. Is it legalbearz? I'd say not.

sorry to hijack the thread 'fog. Will I get banned?
