Dont think it was to much the loyalty..as it is the Communist Soccer League or MLS....think it was more of a thanks but no thanks by the energy drink as they gave the Red Haired One his "wings" and sent him flying to La La land....but would be nice if everyone in the MLS didnt play/manage/GM for each team more than 3 times in their MLS lifetime....eh....COME ON YOU CREW....not that catchy eh....still miss my TB Mutiny R.I.P.

Loyalty? Ah but he IS loyal, if you want to look at it that way.... to AEG, and LA!

Who else took a player and made him GM of San Jose. Whatever the background, it's not as bad as Chicago dumping Peter Wilt.

I freakin' hate Sampson with a passion for what he did to us/US in WC '98. This could ONLY be better if it were John Harkes instead of Lalas.

Previous snarkiness was in fired Crew HC Tom Fitzgerald being named UCLA head coach over Sampson, whereupon Sampson told them they made big mistake.. Fitz, of course, responded by taking UCLA to the NCAA Championship.
Perhaps AEG just wanted to see if Sampson had grown up any, perhaps they want to see if Lalas has the stuff of excellent executives... but, overall I believe same as Quigley... gonna be fun!

Though Lalas' 'homer' quotes {Galaxy is playing down to the Crew level} at half-time of the Crew Gal's game ticked me off, I believe that he is one of the best things to happen to MLS in the last few years.

For years we pictured Alexi Lalas in a sort of soccer-kit clown suit... but isnt that better than what the Mutts had in Stillitano and his predecessor? Clowns in business suits pretending not to be clowns?

Think about Lalas career so far... I can see a time not too far off, where he possibly becomes the Pete Rozelle of Amaerican Soccer... someone else many fans thought of as a clown, but a successful genius, nonetheless.
