Although the club doesn't open business for another year, they're already courting a future USMNT manager in J. Kreis (in my humble opinion). Mr. Kreis has been nothing but brilliant for RSL and overtures were bound to come given his contract is about to expire. It'd be interesting to see if any European/Mexican clubs come calling as well. I find this to be an intriguing choice by NYCFC as they'd obviously have the cash to spend on some "higher profile" or retread manager. http://soccer.si.com/2013/09/19/new-yor ... =sc_t1t_a1
It is a good sign for NYCFC and a surprisingly smart choice in that it appears they understand the pitfalls of hiring a manager with no MLS experience. However, I'm betting and hoping Kreis stays in SL. NYCFC is likely to spend big on over-the-hill prima donas or want to send MCFC players over to NYC on loan. I dont think Kreis would want to deal with that.
Interesting article on Kries and his coaching philosophy by Brian Straus. Reaffirms in my mind that NYCFC would not be a good fit for him http://soccer.si.com/2013/09/30/real-salt-lake-jason-kreis-interview-mls/3/
