The Derby match will go a long way toward determining how this season will go. Win, and Fulham are right back in the thick of things in the middle of the pack -- lose or draw, and while I won't actually sew it on my replica jersey just yet, I may go ahead and order a Coca-Cola badge. Mr prediction: Everything finally goes our way, and Fulham FINALLY get a result, 4-0.
RE: Just what the doctor ordered: Take 3 from Derby and cal I always feel uncertain when I approach a wounded cornered animal, fighting for their life. YMMV. Can Fulham help 'put 'em down'? Dunno.
RE: Just what the doctor ordered: Take 3 from Derby and cal If Fulham can't beat Derby at home, Fulham deserve to go down.
RE: Just what the doctor ordered: Take 3 from Derby and cal Sadly I will miss this match, but I will find a way to sneak off and join the chat for the first half. As I just said ... anything but a win and I get worried and paranoid.
It's still early, but if Fulham does not take 3 points from Derby, do they even deserve to be in the Premeirship. Derby is looking at this game and thinking they can make some hay while the sun is shining. Aside from Barnes and maybe Eddie Lewis, they are a Premeirship team with Championship players. I'll hold off on a prediction so as not to jinx the W's
I wish this game was televised on FSC. I am a Feilhaber fan, and he is getting more and more playing time. It is nice to see the US players on the field in England.
I like Benny, too, but for the sake of FFC ... I hope he sits the bench or has a non-game. Anyone else and I would be rooting for him whole-heartedly.
I think Feilhaber is still in the learning stage since coming into the EPL. He will need some time before he is in his comfort zone. The pace of the game is much faster than he has played anywhere. He is the reason I follow what is happening in Derby County. I first saw him in a high school game by where I live (I had no idea who he was then). It seemed like he had the ball all the time because his team was always calling his name - "Benny, Benny" while asking for a pass. One thing I have noticed about his game is that he improves everywhere he goes. After the HS game I saw him in the U-18 tournament, he was a little shaky, but it was an improvement. His progression from Germany to the US team and then onto Derby is a testament to how hard he works to improve.
Re: RE: Just what the doctor ordered: Take 3 from Derby and I agree. Basically, short of a massive - and I do mean massive - rise to the occassion in the case of a loss, Fulham's got to win here. It's been over a month (a month and a half by the time this game happens?) since Fulham got a win. In that time we saw games they should have won that became ties, games they should have lost that became ties, and games they did lose. Fulham needs to win this game or they may have to think about whether they should go for an unbelievable relegation-dodging run or prepare for a Championship run by the winter transfer window. They're at home, they have EPL experience that Derby doesn't have, and they are due for a win. I think they can do it - but will the team feel the same way? I hope so because a lack of confidence may doom the Cottagers.
