I work in a small office, and one of the guys here has this clown on the radio. I'm usually not in the office and can listen to World Soccer Daily most days, but I have to listen to him talk "smak". I'll do well not to have perforated my own eardrums by the end of the day

I love his listeners -- nice to see so many semi-employed frat boys are able to work their mother's clock radios.

I loathe Jim Rome and his opinions on any and all matters concerning sport. He is a loud mouth arrogant fool who gained popularity by instigating a brawl with a second rate NFL quarterback. Why, oh why do people still listen to his absurd ramblings?

Idiot is an understatement, but even idiots need jobs. He hates soccer, and thinks it's for girls, soccer moms, and kids eating orange slices. I would like for him to run full speed, then get kicked and bounce on the floor. Let me restate that, i would like to be the one who kicks him as he runs full speed.

Soccer, futbol, football, or what ever you prefer to call it will take it's rightful place soon enough. This scares him, this means he will soon be unemployed.

As long as there are 24 hr sport networks on in the US, there will always be supposed know-it-alls like him who are IGNORANT(defined as a lack of knowledge) to the beautiful game. Those people are paid by all the commercials we don't have to indure.

I am not a Romey hater. I'm not a fan, but he's pretty knowledgeable about sports. Hates the soccer, but that's average American sports fan for you.

Well... gotta say he more or less invented a genre. Without him where would Steven X Smith be?

He's good at his act I'll give him that.

Funny thing, I don't mind listening to most of these guys, Smith, Wilbon, Kornheiser, Bayless, whomever, on TV but when they get on the radio it goes too far. Same thing with the political commentators. Fine on TV, but it seems once they get on the radio they loosen the belt and nothing keeps them in check. The endless rants with no alternative views put forth, obvious omissions, and pat on the back phone calls go beyond my saturation point.

Sometimes he can be funny, and he is pretty knowledgable about a lot of sports. I used to listen to him a lot in the early 1990s. Once he started in on soccer, I started to tune out. He has to keep banging on it everytime it comes up, just like the Chris Everett thing. He just has to keep saying it. It is redundant, just like his radio show and his callers. He feels this strange need to repeat something over and over and over again. The only time I see him now is if he is talking smack about soccer on youtube, or if I happen onto him by chance in the car or on tv.

I cannot remember if I mentioned this in a discussion on this guy before, but he was even cracking on the college national champions last year - UCSB - his alma mater (and mine). Jerk.
