Any fans out there? Any recommendations for a soccer bar for anyone with even a slight knowledge of the area?

Waking up early on Saturdays is going to be a delight...

I'm so jealous. I haven't lived in San Diego in about 4 years, but I think your two best bets are:

    Princess Pub and Grille
    1665 India Street
    &
    Shakespeare Pub and Grill
    3701 India Street

BewareOfTheSteve; you're going to find it rough out here in the winter. I think the high in SD yesterday was a brutal 67 degrees

Whereabouts exactly were you moving to? The only regular poster from down there is jlough (you might want to pm him to see what pub he goes to). As pointed out, the Gaslamp Quarter downtown has all kinds of pubs.
Will echo Nev's statement that the toughest thing will be having to get up early as 5 am on Sat. to catch your team live.

Steve, the 7AM games aren't so tough, it is the 4:45AM games.

I'm out there quasi-permanently, I guess. Honestly, I don't have a job or anything... just going to kind of swing it. I'm in Dallas right now, also looking for a soccer bar here for Saturday :), and just putting a few things together while taking the opportunity to visit some family.

Thanks for all the well wishes...

Thanks for the recommendations brad and the link nevzter... knew people here would be willing and able to lend a hand.

SoCalJoe, what is LA to San Diego? About a 2 hour drive? I was thinking about coming up in a couple weeks to catch the US - Sweden match.

I'm going to be staying in a couple miles from San Diego State, maybe about six miles from the heart of the city.

And I think AmericanMike is right.... Ridge, 4:45am games might be easier just staying up all night... the 7AM ones will be rougher staying awake

    * Three magic words you'll get used to: Depending on Traffic

From SDSU to the Home Depot Center is no more than 2 hours *
Not sure what day of the week the US-Sweden game is (assuming it's on a weekend). However, some 2 hr. drives are worse than others. That drive (for someone who hasn't done it) has a bunch of great coast towns, a good chunk right along the Pacific Ocean before heading up the 405 fwy.
