Well, Ian Dowie has been sacked by Charlton (Sky Sports).

I think they were just coming into form as well and I think this was a real bad move by the Addicks. They had recently kept a couple of clean sheets, and looked like a team again...hmmm, who's available to take his place??

HAVE to wonder about what else was going on... could it be that they {board and fans} were a little impatient?

Or was there hate and discontent in the locker? One thing for sure, when a manager gets fired this quick, he may have tapped in where he shouldnt but he hasnt been 'un-proven' as a manager.
Bill Belichik at Cleveland comes to mind.

I'm surprised that they would fire the guy so quickly; after all, Alan Curbishley stayed there for about 15 years before he left last year. Good luck to whoever takes over, but I still hope they're relegated by the season's end!

Good luck to Ian Dowie. Seems like a nice enough fellow (who you don't want to get on the wrong side of), and it does seem like the team was finally turning a corner. Wrong guy, wrong time, I guess.

I know Dowie is an old boy, but I have a small smug smile about his sacking. I think he was wrong to join Charlton after leaving Palace to return north.

Having said that - I do like Dowie, and hope he bounces back.
